Buck Davidson Jumping Clinics Return

Mr. Davidson returns to continue the fun and take the challenge to the next level.  Join us on August 20 & 21 to audit ($10 per person) if you haven’t signed up to ride.

Ride ON

Attention Lesson Program Boarders and Lessors:

Please help us keep the lesson program running smoothly by calling before 4pm to let us know when you are planning to ride. After 4pm we are in the arena and can't get the message.  Everyone will be happy with a little cooperation and planning ahead.  To improve scheduling, please try to either come when group lessons are not happening or during a lesson time.  Thank you.

League Try-outs Coming

Sign-up sheets for tryouts will be up the first week of August, along with a list of things parents AND riders are committing to...the least of which is financial!

ALL need to read BEFORE signing up.

Remember tryouts are for a spot on any FMF team...the coaches decide, the riders don't.  If you show up to try-outs to you are agreeing to abide the coaches' decisions to ride for which ever team is assigned.

You have just entered…a No Attitude Zone.

Silence is Not A “No”.  With the deluge of vacations and related w/s substitutions, it has come to our attention that people like to make calls about as much as others like to get them.  Why?  Because few are actually returning the call to give an answer.  It can make a person feel all alone in a cold and uncaring world.  Silence is not a “No”.  Please respect and love your FMF family enough to call back.  It is OK to say No, if you call right away.  TRY to say YES – it may be you.

Beware:  “We” are now officially watching to see who the nice polite people are who return the sub requests phone calls.

Bio-Hazard Diddly-Bah      (Ie. Germ containment)

You may well be asking, “Hey what is all that aisle blockage and stall warning sign thing about anyway?”  Glad you asked.  We have had a couple of snotty noses (horse-wise) around the barn lately.  (NOT runny noses, horses' noses drain all the time from having dust/mud/shavings get stuck to them - that's not what we're talkin’ here.)  When a horse has a snotty nose we routinely culture the “drainage” to see what type of bacteria is growing to choose an appropriate antibiotic.

Clipper had a sinus infection which was treated and is now over...Titan developed one about the time Clipper was over his.  While Clipper's nose cultured nothing exciting, Titan's boogers had a small amount of an icky bacteria that can be transmitted to other horses.

Thus, the blocking off of the last five stalls and the rerouting of traffic - please OBEY those signs!!!  None of the horses next to Titan have gotten sick, and ALL of our horses (including Titan) have been vaccinated against this type of bacteria.  These are two entirely different cases, with entirely different types of bacteria.  Where Titan picked it up it's hard to know.  The vet's say they can carry it in their bodies for up to two years, without getting sick!

Now you may well be asking, “How can I help?”

·        No treats fed by hand-you can be the carrier for germs if they are out there ~

TREATS IN THE FEED BUCKETS.

·        DON"T pet noses of any horse other than the one you are riding...!!!!!!! We know they are all cute but…hands to yourself.

·        Finally - for right now when cleaning stalls and feeding (other than the off limit ones) put horses on cross-ties-not in someone else's stall!!!

·        Think about it-----
