News for the FMF horse lover in all of us                          September 2006

Hi! Welcome to the monthly (or so) FMF Newsletter.  Check this space for upcoming events, messages from Karen and Stephen, coaches and others and just plain general horse news.

Horse News

Congratulations to Hana Dudley on her lease of Gatsby!  Best wishes to the happy pair.

Farm News

STOP! This means you!  Actually, if you are already stopping at the stop sign at the incoming top of the driveway to very carefully check to see if anything at all is moving – horses, people, small children, annoying but helpful gopher chasers, etc. – well then we thank you.  You may continue to move slower than you can walk to a parking space. If however, you are sort of slowing down and/or rolling thru the intersection your next reminder may not be so gentle; you have been warned.  If you find yourself saying, “Now what stop sign would that be?” please seek help of one kind or another.  Just kidding but do STOP.

Arrive early!

Please allow at least 20 minutes (but not more than 30 minutes) before the start of the lesson to get your horse groomed and tacked. Working students are available to facilitate tacking, but it is the student's individual responsibility to be ready on time and also clean up after the lesson.  Remember to clean those hooves and the grooming stall before and after.  Your horse thanks you.

TEAM News

League try-outs are on Tuesday September 5th.  Please see the several page hand-out hanging near the Events Board (by the tack room).  The try-out begins with a Parent/Rider informational meeting to answer the question, “So, what will this mean for me?”  We will be fielding four teams this year, NCEL A & B, NCSSEL and JEL.  Good luck to all our hopefuls!
