Buck Davidson Jumping Clinics Continue

Mr. Davidson returns to continue the fun and take the challenge to the next level.  Join us on August 20 & 21 to audit ($10 per person) if you haven’t signed up to ride.

Prevention is 9/10ths of the Law

Road Rash and Beaver Tail Toes are a thing of the past.  With Summer in full effect, for safety sake (and a little bit of propriety in mind as well), please remember:

·         No halter tops or tank tops for riding.  A sleeveless T or polo is OK, more coverage is better.

·         No tummy exposure!  (That would mean no skin showing when you pick up your arms.)

·         No sandals or open toed shoes allowed in the grooming barns or around the horses at all.

·         No short shorts – ie. There should be extra material after your derrière no shorter than your fingertips.  Pants or chaps to ride lessons in please.  There should be no skin showing ‘twix shorts and chaps.

·         No peeking out undergarments – please keep your private wear private.  No tops or bottoms should stick out on anyone.

New Lights on a Messy Topic

Check out the new lights in the original grooming barn – Way cool.  Now we can really see to make those ponies shine!  Remember to remove the dirt from both your mount and then the FLOOR –  Yes, YOU!

Whose Poop is this anyway…

The word according to Ms. Michelle:  If your horse leaves a present anywhere to or from the flags at the top of the driveway to and including in the barn – It is your responsibility to pick it up with a instrument of your choosing and put in the muck bin.  Extra points awarded for coming back to get it on your way out if you forgot or for helping a forgetful friend.  Do a good turn and we’ll all thank you.

A New Reason to File Mondays Away

Horses Beware! And people stay out of the way of the horse dentist who will be making the rounds with us on Mondays in the upcoming weeks.  Please take pains to go around and not thru when the dentist is working.  Thank you.

Revolving Stall Locations Announced

As the renovations to the Bank Barn continue please be aware that horse locations my change, and then change again, to accommodate the ongoing work.  Just think of it as a fun sort of scavenger hunt and a way to get to know each other even better – As in, “Have you seen Frosty lately?”, “No, let’s have a look together!”

WORKING STUDENT OF DISTINCTION

Helmets off to:

June:  Hannah Kosten - Ounce for ounce she is the fastest waterer we have, a delight to work with and continues to impress both co-workers and supervisors.

July:  Dailee Fagnant:   Great all-around worker; willing to pitch in and help at a moments notice, frequently stays late to ensure all the jobs are finished, has covered shifts at the last minute for co-workers, and is approachable, patient and willing to teach our newest students how to tack up.

Working Student Forum

Don’t give your hard earned hours away!  When students are logging their hours, they must print both first and last names.  With duplicate names, summer vacations and people switching days a psychic/ handwriting expert would be required for correct ID.

Welcome to new W/S’s:  Ms. Kathleen Freeberger, Erica Cherry, Caroline Speiker and Kelly Wallace.  Glad to have ya!
