Horsemanship Program

Introducing the Full Moon Farm Horsemanship Program (FMF HP)!

We’ve created this opportunity for our riders to learn more about horses, our farm, and hard work!

Each day, riders will get the opportunity to ride on their own, helping them to become more independent riders. Riders will also have the chance to learn about various aspects of horse care, farm maintenance, and much more. From resetting feed, to determining turnout schedules, to wrapping a hoof, there’s endless things to learn! Riders will get valuable hands-on experience and discover the ins & outs of how the barn functions, to help them gain an understanding of the “bigger picture.”

This is a great step towards leasing and owning a horse!

Standard Day: $70 per day (8am-1pm)
Extended Day: $80 per day (pickup anywhere from 1pm-4pm)

Please note that many younger participants often tire out around 2-3pm. Riders must remain engaged & helpful around the barn for the entirety of the day.

To sign-up or inquire about available dates:

Call the farm line (410-795-8371) or email Ashley at akpear9@gmail.com.

No refunds. No makeups unless we can fill your spot.

Eligibility
Open to current FMF riders aged 8+ (including adults!) who can groom & tack independently and are ready (or almost ready) to start “free riding” on their own. Riders under the age of 8 may participate with instructor approval. Riders must remain in FMF lessons throughout the program.
This program is for students who want to attend & learn more! Riders must be prepared to ride, work, and learn.

Schedule
Program runs Tuesdays-Fridays, beginning at 8am. Time will be set aside for riders to eat lunch. Riders will have one supervised free-ride each day. Scheduling is per day, not per week (but you may sign up for whole weeks if you want!). Maximum of 4 participants per day, scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. We will not reserve your requested dates until payment is received.

What to Bring
All participants should bring their own helmet, grooming supplies, crop, lunch, and water. Wear comfortable “work” clothes for the non-riding portion of the day, and bring riding clothes to change into.

This program runs RAIN or SNOW or HEAT! (Unless the weather creates dangerous driving conditions.)
