Volunteer Information
or how to have even MORE fun at FULL MOON FARM
9/13/2006

The FMF Volunteer Program allows students (and parents) the opportunity to volunteer at FMF events to learn more about the world of horse showing, and to earn certificates for 10% off their lesson package.

Here’s how it works: students will be made aware of volunteer opportunities and given the chance to sign up for a block of hours.  Based on your age and abilities, you will be given an assignment.  If you and a parent work, as long as you are both truly working, you will both earn hours.  Once you accumulate 10 hours, you will receive a certificate for 10% off your next lesson package, OR 10% off any Full Moon Farm service under $300 (excluding farrier services).

Our Starter Horse Trials are our biggest events and occur twice yearly.  For these events you have the opportunity to earn both a 10% Off Certificate and a free In-House or PipeOpener Entry (valued at $35).  If you work 8 or more hours at the Horse Trials, you will earn the free Entry.  The total amount of hours also counts towards the 10% Off Certificate.  For example, if a mom and student work 8 hours at the Horse Trials, the student would earn 2 In-House or PipeOpener entries, and one 10% Off Certificate, and have 6 hours towards a second 10% off certificate.

We have the following upcoming volunteer opportunities:

Sign-up sheets to be posted in the main barn.

FMF Event Riders (this includes shows, PipeOpeners and Horse Trials):
For those of you riding in FMF events, you are required to give two hours of volunteer time to the event.  As you know, we couldn’t do it without you.

When you sign up - please write your working student and lesson times and any other time constraints for the day of the event in the column provided on the sign up sheet,.  I will do my best to schedule around them.  There are a few work hours available the night before and early morning on event day.  Unfortunately most of our needs occur during the event.   I will schedule with your requests and ride times in mind.  If you have a conflict on the day of the event you have the option of providing a responsible substitute (parent, sibling, friend…) to take your work hours for you.  I appreciate your understanding as I work on scheduling and assignments.
