Jumper Show Information:
Dress: Approved helmet secured with a harness must be worn by all riders at all times while mounted. Boots, breeches or jodhpurs and a collared shirt are appropriate-please no full chaps! Half-chaps will be acceptable.

General Rules:

'Power and Speed' Class: The 'power' part of the course will be indicated on the course (the first ?? jumps). After the last 'power' jump the clock starts for the remainder of the course. After the horse and rider have broken the line through the finish flags time will stop. The horse/rider combo with the least faults and the fastest time wins. BUT, if on the 'power' phase of the course the horse and rider incur faults (rail down, refusal, etc.) a whistle will sound after the 'power' phase and the rider will be excused without being allowed to go onto the 'speed' phase. If you hear no whistle you continue to canter directly to the next fence because your time starts right away! [i.e.: Jumps 1-6 are the power part of the course. If you are clean over these fences there will be no whistle and you canter on to fence 7 and finish the course. If you have any faults on fences 1-6 a whistle will blow after fence 6 and you must leave the ring without jumping another fence.]

'Speed' Class: (Table 3 classes): Whoever goes the fastest over the jumps in the designated order will win. In the event of rail(s) down each rail down is converted to time (4 seconds), which is then added to the overall time. Any additional faults, refusals, falls are only counted by how much time they take, i.e. the clock keeps running. It is possible to still win a class with a rail down if you are fast enough!

Table 2 section 2b or 2a: (another knock down type of class) In this type of class you have 2 courses to learn. Your first round is longer and is ridden to jump clean. You may be timed only to make sure you do not exceed the very generous time allowed. If you go clean and you are in elementary you will be allowed to then leave the ring and come back for your jump off course later (section 2a). If you are above elementary upon completing the first course you will immediately be given a whistle to begin your second timed course (section 2b). This means that elementary riders will be able to come out to learn their second course. All other riders must know their second course before they go in for their first course. The combo with the fastest time and the least number of faults will be the winner.
